Spicy Chorizo & Onion Tart


- 3 medium sized sweet onions

- 1 leek

- Spicy Chorizo

- Gruyere

- 1 beaten egg

- Fresh Thyme

- Green Onion

- Hot Honey

- Balsamic Glaze

- Olive Oil


  1. Thinly slice 2 and 1/2 sweet onions and 1 leek.

  2. Sauté the chopped onions and leek over medium heat with olive oil until deeply caramelized.

  3. Thinly slice 3/4 cup of gruyere cheese and place it on thawed puff pastry.

  4. Drizzle hot honey over the Gruyere cheese

  5. Spread the caramelized onions and leeks on the cheese.

  6. Sprinkle 1/2 TBSP thyme, 1/2 TBSP chopped chives, and 1 TSP of SLC Salt Pepper Garlic seasoning over the top.

  7. Add 1/4 cup of diced spicy chorizo on top.

  8. Brush egg wash on the edge of the puff pastry.

  9. Season the edges with SLC Salt Pepper Garlic.

  10. Bake at 400°F for 15 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
  11. Optional: Drizzle the baked dish with balsamic glaze and parmesan before serving.
